Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese warming therapy that uses dried mugwort (known as "Ai Cao") gently warmed over specific acupuncture points. The soothing heat is used to encourage the flow of qi and blood, warm the channels and support the body's balance.

Frequently asked questions
Does it burn the skin?
No — the moxa is kept at a comfortable distance to provide gentle warmth, not direct contact. Tell your practitioner if it ever feels too warm.
Is there smoke or scent?
There is a mild herbal aroma. Our treatment rooms are well ventilated for your comfort.
Is it done on its own?
Most often it is combined with acupuncture for a more complete treatment, though your practitioner will tailor this to you.
